My son has been taking a summer reading program with his first grade teacher and has been bringing home books that you can download for free. Their are guided reading books, phonics books, vocabulary words and more! Just go over here and check out the website. They say that over the summer, children tend to loose some of the knowledge they have gained over the year so it's important to alway keep their brain working!
